Year 3, 4, 5 or 6. We have your child's programme

YEAR 3 Foundations

This is the ideal year to begin your child’s journey. With 2 to 3 years ahead, we can build strong skills without any pressure or rush. We focus on developing solid foundations in Maths and English while gradually introducing all KS2 subjects. For children aiming for Reading Boys or Kendrick, this is where preparation begins. Our sessions are calm, supportive, and enjoyable, helping children build confidence and a love for learning from an early stage.

YEAR 4 Skill Building

By Year 4, your child starts gaining real momentum in their learning. We introduce the full range of subjects required for their target school in a structured way. For Reading Boys, this includes all 12 FSCE subjects such as Creative Writing, Science, History, and Geography. For Kendrick, we add Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning alongside Maths and English. The pace remains comfortable while strengthening knowledge and skills. Year 4 is also the latest recommended.

YEAR 5 11+ Preparation

Year 5 becomes a key preparation year, especially with the Reading Boys exam taking place in mid-July. For boys, we provide focused and intensive training across all subjects, including mock exams, timed practice, and exam techniques. For girls targeting Kendrick, this is the second-to-last preparation year, where we deepen understanding across all core areas. For other students, we ensure strong KS2 development and readiness for SATs.

YEAR 6 SATs and Final Prep

Year 6 is the final stage of primary school and focuses on completing preparation with confidence. For girls aiming for Kendrick, this includes intensive revision leading up to the September exam. All students receive structured SATs preparation in Maths, English, and Reading. For those not taking the 11+, we strengthen subject knowledge to ensure a smooth transition into secondary school. Our goal is to help every child finish Year 6.

Summer Programme

Our summer programme runs throughout the school holidays to maintain learning progress. While summer is a time to relax, long breaks can lead to learning loss. Our sessions provide a gentle and flexible approach to keep skills sharp without pressure. This is especially important for Year 5 students preparing for upcoming exams. We ensure children stay engaged, confident, and ready for the next academic step while still enjoying their holidays.

What happens in every single session.

Session

Structured teaching using our purpose-built booklets. Targeted work based on your child's personal learning plan. A short assessment to check what has been understood. A homework booklet to complete at home before the next session. Regular progress updates shared with parents.

Homework

Homework is set after every session. It is designed to consolidate what was taught in class. Please go through the homework booklet with your child each week and check the answers together. When children find and correct their mistakes, they learn. This is one of the most important things you can do at home. Children whose parents are involved in their homework make significantly faster progress.
